Easy DIY Diaries (March 2024)

Most of the time my DIY Diaries are somewhat complex. It leaves me surrounded by pools of thread and small scraps of fabric and sometimes a nice new piece of clothing. DIY doesn't always work out. It is a lot of trial and error and figuring out what works for you and your body. So let's go back to basics.

This DIY is as easy as it gets. No mess and definitely no complications. I saw these matching jumpers with cartoons on them like Lightning McQueen and Sally for friends or couples and loved them immediately. There were so many different options like The Lion King, Lilo and Stitch, Spider Man, Wall-E and so on. But the problem is they are so expensive and of course they are because it’s being sold by a small business owner on Etsy and in this economy of course they have to be pricey.

Luckily for me, my brain tells me that I can make anything I want whether I have prior experience or not. The first thing I did was pick the characters I wanted on my jumpers. I watched How To Train Your Dragon recently for the millionth time because it is such a good film. It reminded me of when I was in year 5 at primary school and I read all 12 of the books in less than a month because they were packed with adventure and fun.

I have been a big reader for as long as I can remember but these books definitely got me into reading fantasy a lot more and when the movies came out in 2010, well you would not believe my joy. So of course, for this project I chose Toothless and Light Fury (the dragons).

Whenever you create anything, you should always make sure it brings you joy because otherwise, what is the point? I found some patches of the dragons online and bought them. And then found some plain jumpers and bought them too. I followed the instructions of ironing the patches onto the jumper and it really was as simple as that.

The easiest DIY I’ve ever done and do you know what? Sometimes it's the easy and quick ones that are actually the best. So once again guys, happy creating!
